Treat Consumers with Respect and Get the Same in Return

If you treat consumers with respect you are going to get the same in return, in most cases. This does not always hold true, but most people in the market for insurance, especially those who contact you, are going to treat you with respect. But as you can imagine, this is only the case if you do the same. In other words, if you talk down on consumers they are going to pass you by and move onto somebody else. Remember, you are not the only one selling insurance.

What does it mean to treat a consumer with respect? For one, you should always offer accurate information. Even though it may be easy to lie you never want to do this. Not only will this harm your career as you move forward, but it will put the consumer in a bad spot as well. While making sales is important, you need to make sure that you do so the right way.

Also, don't put consumers off. Respecting buyers means being there when they need you. If a consumer has a question make sure that you answer it in a timely fashion. If a current customer needs to file a claim it is your job to be there for them. By treating people the right way you are going to get the same in return. Not to mention the fact that this will also help your business in the long run. After all, consumers want to do business with agents who are there for them.

It takes just as much energy to treat a consumer good as it does to treat them bad. Always be respectful and you will be happy with the results you achieve.
